“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)
With the encouragement and care of the RBC Deacons, the SMILES widows group meets at RBC each Friday at 6:00 p.m., to come alongside new widows or those who have been widowed for a while. We have a devotional, share prayer requests, and have fun playing games (we do love our card game of GOLF!). When we’re not meeting on a Friday night we attend concerts, do outside activities such as fruit picking, going to parks, and other activities.
One of the rewarding aspects of our group is seeing the ladies come together for service projects such as packing up Christmas goodies for Guilford for teachers and staff, making blankets for Guilford families, or volunteering at different events at RBC. A favorite event to serve has been the Daddy Daughter Dance each year.
