Good News to the World
Jesus commanded His disciples to take the good news to the world. That good news is for you, for everyone, entrusted to you, and personal.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR SHEPHERD GROUPS
- When it was announced that March 11 would be a missionary Sunday, what was your first internal response and why?
- Read Mark 16:15. We are told to go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel. The word Gospel is the Greek word evangelion—and means “good news.” What word do you see in the Greek word that we have today? Discuss the original word and its reflection for us as believers today.
- Read Matthew 28:18-20. This is commonly referred to as the Great Commission. When you hear that phrase, what is your internal response—exhilaration, trepidation, other?
- If you could identify your role in the Great Commission, what would you say? How do you feel you are doing in that role?
- Read 1 Thessalonians 2:1-4. What does it mean that we are entrusted with the Good News?
- Who is someone in your life that needs the good news? Who are they to you and what has the process been in seeking to expose them to the gospel? Any success?
- Pray for those people who your group is trying to engage with the message of Christ.
