2024 Men’s Retreat

October 4 - October 6

Meadowkirk Retreat and Conference Center

Ministry:

The Men’s Ministry will have their annual retreat from October 4 to October 6, 2024 at Meadowkirk Conference and Retreat Center in Middleburg, Virginia, only a 40-minute drive from Sterling.

Join us for the 2024 Men’s Retreat, where you will hear challenging and encouraging messages from Paul Goodnight, former RBC pastor. The theme verse for this year is James 1:22-25 where we are called to be “doers of the Word, not just hearers.”

Have you ever wondered, when the Bible says we are to be doers of the Word and not just hearers, if we’re on the hook for a lot of commands? The Old Testament is said to contain 613 commands and the commands are everything from “You shall not wear cloth of wool and linen mixed together” to “Thou shalt not kill.” There are 1050 commands in the New Testament but some are repeated. Researchers have classified them and concluded they fall into 800 categories. Eight hundred!

Over the weekend of the Men’s Retreat, we won’t be trying to cover a boatload of commands—but we will look at five that, when followed in the power of the Holy Spirit, are life-changing and impactful. We will look at directives regarding fear, faithfulness, kindness, fortressing, and holiness (pretty sure “fortressing” has you scratching your head, but we’ll get into that later.) Start clearing your calendar now for a weekend that the Lord will use to challenge and encourage you (but please, don’t pack shorts that mix wool and linen.)

So join the men of RBC and CFC this October for a weekend of great messages, reflection, relaxation and an opportunity to grow closer to our LORD and Savior. One of the great benefits of the retreat is the opportunity to meet and connect with other brothers in Christ. The enemy wants to keep Christian men like you in isolation, forgetting we are new creatures in Christ. God did not intend for us to go it alone. Christ came to radically transform our lives and the lives of those around us. Whether it’s in our families, with co-workers, or friends, Christ wants to use you to reflect and share Him with others. How? Attend the retreat, learn from others, and be encouraged.

Retreat registration is now closed.
