An Evening Discussion: Women in Ministry
Event Navigation
On Sunday, May 19, as we continue our teaching series through 1 Timothy, “Paul’s Loving Charge to the Church,” we will cover perhaps one of the most controversial and misunderstood topics in the evangelical church today—women in ministry. What are Paul’s statements in the latter half of 1 Timothy 2 (particularly 1 Timothy 2:12) meant to convey? Can women serve as pastors, elders or deacons? In what ways should women exercise their gifts in the body of Christ? What does it look like for women to lead in a local church? Where are the lines Scripture draws—and should there be any lines at all in the modern church?
In addition to the message on Sunday morning, we will be hosting an additional panel discussion that evening in order to provide dialogue and deeper context to this topic. Join us in the sanctuary from 6:30-8:00pm as Pastor Jim and a number of RBC women including staff, former staff and volunteers dialogue about what is means to be a woman in ministry. We will also take some time for audience Q & A.
