Touch The Sky
As we gather to worship this coming Sunday, we’ll sing a new song together called Touch The Sky by Hillsong United. It is a beautiful song. It carries a beautiful message. And I’m so excited that we can celebrate the Lord’s goodness as we sing it together. It’s a song centered around the understanding that, as Christians, we find God from a position of personal surrender. The world will tell us that, in fact, surrender is a sign of weakness and defeat. But it isn’t. In our case, it’s the exact opposite. We surrender not because we’ve lost, but because He’s already won everything for us. He is completely and perfectly in control. Our surrender to His sovereign hand and His matchless grace are vital to our growth as Christ followers. I pray that we truly touch the sky when our knees hit the ground.
May we sing loudly and with great passion this Sunday. I can’t wait to see you all there!
What fortune lies beyond the stars
Those dazzling heights too vast to climb
I got so high to fall so far
But I found heaven as love swept low
My heart beating, my soul breathing
I found my life when I laid it down
Upward falling, spirit soaring
I touch the sky when my knees hit the ground
What treasure waits within Your scars
This gift of freedom gold can’t buy
I bought the world and sold my heart
You traded heaven to have me again
Find me here at Your feet again
Everything I am, reaching out I surrender
Come sweep me up in Your love again
And my soul will dance on the wings of forever
It would be interesting to see if people will fall to their knees. . I’ve never seen that at RBC. I pray this song will have a great impact on the church and it’s worship team.
Sounds like a challenge. . Can we be spiritually open at church without feeling judged? ♡
I LOVE this song. I loaded it on my phone from the parking lot before leaving service.
‘My heart beating, my soul breathing
I found my life when I laid it down
Upward falling, spirit soaring
I touch the sky when my knees hit the ground’
So perfect.
Thanks for all you do. The music always lifts me up and i’m sure others as well.
