The 2009 RBC Men's Retreat will be held on September 18-20, 2009 at Sandy Cove Conference Center in North East, MD.
THEME: We're especially excited about this years' theme – "TRUST". But, who is worthy of our trust? And what can we trust in? As Christians, we can trust in the redemptive forgiveness of our sins (past, present and future) though Jesus Christ. The Lord has a plan for our best interest. In Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord says he has plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. True - but how do we live everyday trusting the Lord and relying on him to guide my life when circumstances don’t always look very promising? Doubt, worry and fear will keep us from living our lives to the fullest. So, how can we ensure I’m trusting the Lord and living life to the fullest? Come join with other men from RBC this fall at the Men’s Retreat where we will discuss these topics and learn how we can do a better job of relying on the only One we can truly TRUST.
SPEAKERS & ACTIVITIES: We'll hear addresses from Jamie Jackson and a weekend wrap-up from Paul Goodnight. The core weekend teaching will be done by Jamie Winship and group discussion sessions will be facilitated by leaders of RBC. We will hear about God’s promises, trusting God with our lives, trusting God with the lives of others and trusting God with our mission. Of course we'll also have the Friday golf tournament, the always memorable Saturday afternoon sports and leisure activities and plenty of discussion time. All in a comfortable and low-key environment, where we can laugh, ponder and be encouraged.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER - JAMIE WINSHIP: Jamie and Donna Winship met through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ at Radford University in Virginia. For the next 5 years Jamie was a police officer in the metropolitan Washington DC area and Donna was a teacher. In 1987 Jamie was offered a job with the CIA to be a special agent, which was actually what God used to call them to serve full-time overseas, not with the CIA, but for the Lord as missionaries. Jamie resigned his police career and the family attended Seminary at Columbia International University in South Carolina.
The Lord has led the Winships to work specifically with unreached Muslim people groups. They serve with Resource Exchange International (daughter organization of the Navigators) out of Colorado Springs, CO. Jamie and Donna have 3 children: Jacob, 23; Ben 22; and Caleb 19.
