The Youth Ministry is hosting our Winter Retreat again over the Presidents Day Weekend, February 12-15, 2010 at Rock Mountain Bible Camp.

Our retreat is open to our Jr. High 6th, 7th & 8th and Sr. High 9th-12th students and their friends. Registration flyers are available on the ministry wall and at the Gap room or register online by clicking the link below.

Our speaker this year is Jamie Winship, back by popular demand. Last year Jamie made a big impact when he spoke with the Jr. and Sr. High about how we can walk with God and influence others in a powerful way. Jamie is very real in the way he shares how God has worked in his life. His sense of humor and practical application of the word are very challenging. Don’t miss this opportunity to grow in your faith and in your vision of what God can do in you and through you. We would love to have all teens at RBC to join us!

Blood Drive

There is an immediate need in our area for most blood types. Blood must be available when needed for patients whose lives depend on it. Over 200 blood and platelet donations are needed every day, year round by patients at the 15 hospitals served by Inova Blood Donor Services.

Blood and platelets help many people including: trauma patients, surgery patients, newborn babies, cancer patients and transplant patients. Although 60 percent of the population is eligible to donate, less than five percent actually donates. More donors are urgently needed every day, seven days a week, to help save lives.

2010 Women's Retreat

Join us March 5 – 7, 2010 at the beautiful Sandy Cove Conference Center in North East, MD, for an uplifting weekend with the women of RBC. Set aside your daily routine and come away with us to worship God, receive biblical teaching, connect with other women and have fun. We’ll be hearing from author, singer and speaker Kelly Minter as she speaks to us from the book of Ruth on "Love, Loss and Legacy".

Rates: Room rates are as follows (full payment is required at time of registration):

$155 -- per person for a 4-person room (limited quantities available)
$175 -- per person for a 3-person room
$210 -- per person for a 2-person room

We are not able to issue refunds after February 25.

Donations: Donations towards Women’s Retreat Scholarships can be given by check or through online giving.

Schedule: Conference check-in begins at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 5 with the first session beginning at 7:00 p.m. The retreat concludes at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7.

DADS & DONUTS : The first annual Dads & Donuts event will take place on the morning of Saturday, March 6th while the ladies are away on the Retreat. D&D will be held in Herring Hall at RBC and run from 8:30-12:00. The first annual Dads & Donuts event will take place on the morning of Saturday, March 6th while the ladies are away on the Retreat. D&D will be held in Herring Hall at RBC and run from 8:30-12:00. This event will be open to any Dads at RBC, but is specifically targeting Dads who are on their own with the kids (ages 0-10) while their wives are on the Retreat. It will be a low key event that includes breakfast, a short family devotional/skit, activities similar to AWANA games, board games, and crafts.

Childcare will be provided for infants/toddlers in the Nursery if Dads have multiple children. Cost is $10 per family.

AWANA Games

This AWANA-sponsored event provides opportunity for the clubbers to participate against other churches in a supervised athletic event. The AWANA Games allows boys and girls the opportunity to display a charitable spirit under the pressure of competition. This year, RBC will enter two teams for the AWANA games. Each team is made up of 15 T&T clubbers.

Sr. High Bike Trip

Come join the RBC Senior High Youth on March 26 - April 3, 2010 as we travel down to Florida by bus and then travel by bike through the Ocala National Forest into Fort Wilderness at Disney in Orlando. This is an awesome trip we host for our teens and their friends every other year. Don’t miss this road trip.

THE COST: Early Registration: $500 before 2/28/2010; $550 after 2/28/2010. ($100 deposit is required at time of registration and the full payment is due by 3/1/2010)

WHAT WE DO ON THE BIKE TRIP: We have a 1/2 day at the beach, bike for four days (approximately 40-50 miles per day) and spend our last day at Disney. The bike staff from The Navigators will once again be assisting us on the trip. They lead outdoor adventure trips like this one. Their staff is well trained and does an excellent job at making the week a fun and safe one for all who go. We will have group time each day where our speaker will encourage us in our journey and in our relationship with God.

Registration will take place on a first come basis until the slots are filled. Don't delay.

Conversations

Everyone has their favorite cup of coffee. And everyone has their favorite place to enjoy that coffee - whether it is sitting in a fast food booth with the guys talking about your fantasy football league over a cup o' joe, or the wonderful experience of reading a book in your favorite coffee shop with its cozy atmosphere and tempting aromas while sipping a piping hot double shot espresso. A coffee shop is where we go to jump start the day with a quick infusion of caffeine, and yet it is also where we go to unwind with a friend after work.

Join us March 29 - April 2, when the Sanctuary will be transformed into our favorite coffee shop for our production of Conversations. Based on conversations that might take place in a coffee shop in combination with real-life testimonies and music, this presentation will be culturally relevant, non-threatening but challenging at the same time. Now is the time to start praying about who you could invite to join you at one of these performances.

We are looking for people who would be interested in helping in this year's production. Last year over 300 volunteers made this outreach possible. We are still in need of: makeup artists, ushers, bakers, coffee shop staff, prayer warriors, children's ministry workers, and people to help provide dinners for the cast and crew on the evenings of the performances. If you are new to RBC and are not yet serving, this would be a wonderful place to start.

If you would like the opportunity to be part of this great team of volunteers, prayerfully consider joining us in one or several of the many volunteer positions that are available now through the week of the presentation. All RBC ministries will be suspended during that week as the congregation is encouraged to participate by bringing their family, friends, co-workers, and those from their community. Won't you please give of your time and talent to be a part of the process of evangelism in the hands of our Lord?
